There is no need for temples; no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple; the philosophy is kindness.

- Dalai Lama -

How does one become the founder of a happy moment or the founder of a moment that makes a difference in a person’s life?

Lets take a look at the snaps of what Aashansh foundation did in collaboration with Dr. V.N. Bedekar institute of management studies thane on 15th of August.

Although it’s a little delayed to share the pictures and apology for the same but could not resist without sharing these amazing moments which we created at Aashansh foundation with the kids.

We had 5 activities:

-       Random acts of kindness: Every individual had a some smiles with them and they had to simply make some people feel special or happy by doing random acts of kindness and they had to give one smiley to them as a token of appreciation for being JUST AMAZING.

-       Old age home: In an era where many of us get sick and tired of our own parents who took so good care of us and made us into a perfect human being, we start hating them just because of our attitude/ego/ideas mismatch/generation gap/so called coolness which we don’t see in them etc and many more reason created by our minds. The students at Aashansh foundation and Dr. V.N. Bedekar institute of management studies decided to go to an old age home and bring a smile on faces of such people who are bed ridden, who have lost their loved ones, who have been thrown out of their house, who are not taken care of by their children or who wish to stay there due to their many personal reasons. Aashansh café as an idea became that source of happiness and smile on such people’s faces at an old age home. We sang old 80s songs, we danced with them, celebrated freedom with them, made them go through a journey of two hours which made them forget their reality and just enjoy.

-       Art and creativity: This is so much fun when many of us has to just go on the street and pick someone of age between 18 to 30 and sit with them on their street of a convenient place and help them draw/paint/sketch their thoughts on a piece of paper and we did just that at Aashansh foundation in collaboration with students and faculty at Dr. V.N. Bedekar institute of management studies thane.

-       Live band: This is just an amazing activity, which touched every ones heart. Treblesome band takes all the credit for the amazing performance and touching everyones heart. Be it the tiniest chap or the middle aged person or a old man. The dedication by the band for Ramesh Joshi literally got tears in his eyes (yes, he went a little senti :p sorry Mr. MD :P haha). The dedication for Aashansh foundation, the happy birthday song sung for one of Aashansh’s amazing mentor Ashwini Pawar made her feel super special that each time she met the management team who was involved in making the event happen, she kept thanking them and said “This was the best birthday ever in my life and Aashansh made me super happy and I will never forget this day in my life ever”!! Isn’t it just amazing? Oh yeah.. The song sung by one of students Jeetal from Dr. V.N. Bedekar institute of management studies was just amazing. Kuddos to your voice Jeetal!!

-       Surprise activity: This looked like a challenge for all of us!! Fantastic! We (meaning participants) had to stand at a stalls such a wadapav, pop corn, tea stall, vegetable vendor etc and work in replacement of the person at the stall. WOW!! Sounds like a great deal! Would they be ok having outsiders working at their stall which study and doesn’t have any experience of it? Well to be honest, it was possible and we made it possible and we did everything right from getting raw material, making it, learning and selecting proper profit margin for stall owner, we learnt to budget a small road size business and we made good profit for the owner so that owner can GO home and rest and spend time with family! And it happened. Cheers to the team and who took up the challenge.

Last but not the least, we at Aashansh foundation would like to thank Dr. V.N. Bedekar institute of management students and faculty, Aashansh mentors, Treblesome band, Aashansh team, Aashansh students, media and people who turned up outside of Aashansh foundation and made this even a successful one. Without your valuable efforts this would not have been possible.
