Ramesh Mahadev Joshi (Young achiever award winner 2013 by Society magazine)

The Aashansh foundation (previously known as Aashayein) was started by Ramesh Joshi in 2006 with the simple idea of educating street children. Ramesh himself is a living example of what education can do in one’s life.

Exceptional thinking and performance characterizes 'Aashansh,' an independent organization, conceived and founded by Ramesh Joshi. Ramesh is a 22 year old who dreamt and achieved.

Equipped with great confidence, charisma and idealism, Ramesh has overcome substantial obstacles in his own life to contribute to his society and family Ramesh dreams big, but before embarking upon the path of achievement he uses this wisdom to guide himself: "Before you start some work, always ask yourself these questions - Is it inspiring to my heart."

Shilpa Garg Agrawal

Shilpa, an entrepreneur with 7 years of clinical research experience, and an adept learner, has always believed in following her dreams. She pursued Masters in Pharmacy from Manipal University (MAHE). After that, in a span of almost half a decade in Quintiles, she moved on to take up different roles. Shilpa has always been appreciated by her colleagues and seniors for her dedication towards her work, eye for detail, focus on quality, quick learning capabilities and mentoring skills.

In 2010, Shilpa in the quest for internal satisfaction left her corporate job and worked with NGO CORD (Chinmaya Organization for Rural Development) in Sidhbari, Himachal, as a volunteer for 3 months, where she was responsible for setting up English Speaking elementary classes for the villagers.

In order to contribute to the clinical research field, and to continue with her interest in working with street children, Shilpa started her own venture, SenseCR (Training and Consulting in Clinical Research) in Jan 2012. Till date, she has trained more than 500 students and clinical research professionals. She has been involved in conducting corporate training workshops for some leading Pharma and CRO companies.

Shilpa is a part of the mentorship program of Aashansh since November 2012.

Deepa Bahal

Deepa is an individual always in the quest of knowing more and exploring various facets of her own life as well of others in general. She is an experienced perofessional engaged in the financial services sector.

She is interested in a lot of things (sometimes all at once) like travelling, trekking, music, photography and so on. She has been a part of the Aashansh mission by supporting the mentorship program and looks forward to contributing to development of the children of the Aashansh family.

Pratik Singla

Pratik has recently joined the mentoring program at Aashansh. He develops New Business opportunities for FITCH, a leading international brand consultancy. Pratik pursued Masters in Advertising & Desig​n from University of Leeds, UK. He enjoys traveling and is always on a looking for new experiences to enrich life by spreading joy.

Sapna Shah

With over seven years of experience in the design and retail industries, Sapna has spent her time working in London, New York and Mumbai. She has graduated from St. Xavier's College in Mumbai and has received a Masters degree from The Pratt Institute in New York. Currently, she is the Associate Client Director at FITCH in Mumbai and her clients include Cadburys, Vodafone and Reliance, to name a few. Besides leading marquee clients, her role involves developing new business opportunities and growing existing client relationships. She has been a passionate advocate of education and mentorship and is also a part of the mentoring program at Aashansh!

Sahil Sinha

Sahil Sinha is a young passionate individual from American School of Bombay, with a passion for making a difference in people'€™s lives. He is a mentor to three students at Aashansh, and is running Aashansh's social media. He wants to be a psychiatrist and serve people being psychiatrist.


Ashwini has around eight years of experience working in Clinical Research. She is currently working as Project Manager and managing projects for India, Israel, Russia, Africa & Turkey. Ashwini completed her graduation in Microbiology, followed by a post graduate diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology (PG-DMLT); post graduate diploma in Clinical Research & Trial Management and an MBA in Project Management. Her dedication and commitment to her work has seen her awarded within the organization many a times by her colleagues and management. She has also secured different awards in her academia.

Her hobbies are reading, writing, exploring new destinations and listening to music. She is very keen on working towards social cause & her areas of interest are rural development & women empowerment. To get a head-start and pursue her interest in social work, she joined Aashansh in Dec 2013. Her role at Aashansh is to mentor few kids to support and help them shape their future. One of the inspiring factors of Aashansh, as per Ashwini, is that she gets to work with ‘great minds’ here, both of the children and of the colleagues at Aashansh!

Lucy Gadkari

Lucy Gadkari is a BA graduate from St. Hugh’s College, University of Oxford. She is currently working with FITCH Mumbai as insights and trend manager. She has been working with Aashansh as mentor and she is also serving a board of director at Aashansh.

Riya Shah

Riya Shah is young passionate, full of enthusiasm Aashansh member who aspires to be a teacher and spread kindness and inspire by her actions. Riya is a graduate from Jai hind college in biotechnology. She is passionate about science and experiments. She teaches at worli center and has been putting personal interest in all the kids at Aashansh and she dreams of making every child truly realise their potential and make stories to inspire others who being on the street feels that they cannot do anything in life.
